Telangana Aims to Plant 18 Crore Trees by 2025 as Part of Green Initiative

On Monday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana government has set an ambitious target of planting 18 crore trees as part of the Forest Festival 2025.

While addressing attendees at the event held at Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University, Reddy recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative 'One Tree in the Name of a Mother' and encouraged individuals to plant trees in honor of their children.

According to an official statement, Reddy emphasized that if we take care of nature, it will, in turn, protect us. He stated that if people nurture trees as they would their own children, Telangana could transform into a completely green region.

Reddy also highlighted the government's commitment to empowering women. He assured that in the upcoming assembly elections, the party would allocate 60 tickets to women, aiming to take significant steps towards implementing women's reservation in legislative bodies.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that 60 tickets are reserved for women in the next assembly elections. Reddy outlined various women-centric initiatives, including the establishment of solar energy plants, the launch of government schools for girls, and the provision of ₹21,000 crore in loans to women's groups this year.
